Story
EEK that is right, thanks to covid I am now running two marathons but all for a very worthwhile cause! I have transferred my place to do the London Marathon 2021. I will also be doing the 40th marathon on 4th October 2020 around Dunsfold aerodrome.
I feel so honoured to run for Access Adventures. I have seen first hand the smile they put on peoples faces and how their camps change the lives of the people trying new adventures and challenges. They run camps that take people with physical disabilities to do things they wouldn't have thought possible; skiing, water-skiing & wakeboarding, kitesurfing, cycling, kayaking and more!
Like many charities and the people they support, they have been effected badly by the crisis so all funds raised will make all the difference.
My wonderful son in law Tim runs Access Adventures with Jane and Clare and I have seen the hard work and dedication they have put in to create such an incredible charity.
Tim broke his back in 2004 in a skiing accident that paralysed him from the waist down. He thought that it would no longer be possible to take part in the sports that he loved. However within a year he was skiing again and never looked back. In 2010 he was part of the British Paralympics team in Vancouver. In 2014 injuries prevented him from being selected for the team but thankfully he was a tv pundit for channel 4 where he met Kate. He has spent years teaching and supporting other people after an accident get into these sports.
With your help I really hope that I can raise a little money to support Access Adventures and their exciting future. I really appreciate any support you can offer. They are a small charity where every penny makes a massive difference.
