Story
I am lucky enough to have secured a charity space for the London Marathon 2023 running for Sue Ryder.
I know a few people who have used the Leckhampton Hospice, but in particular, my Father-in-law recieved the most amazing in-home palliative care from them. The nurses and carers were simply incredible and so supportive, making his last weeks as calm and pain-free as possible.
Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – they’re there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
Here's an idea of the costs that Sue Ryder need to cover to do what they do, and what your money could be contributing to:
- £21 could pay for one hour of expert care, helping people live the best life they possibly can
- £60 could provide an hour of bereavement counselling for someone struggling with the loss of a loved one
- £145 could pay for a hospice nurse for a day
- £500 could pay for a bed for a day of inpatient care for a hospice patient
I would be incredibly grateful for any donation, large or small. As most of you who know me are aware, I started running a few years ago but I have never tackled this distance so the hard work starts now!
