Story
I was diagnosed with pattern macular dystrophy in 2012 . This is a rare genetic condition that progresses over time impacting vision and creating ‘blind spots’ that gradually reduce my visual field.
Currently there is no treatment available and my vision will continue to deteriorate. The macular society provide support to people like me who have a range of eye conditions and also fund research for potential stem cell treatments.
To raise awareness of macular conditions I will be undertaking 20 20 mile walks throughout 2020 and aiming to initially raise £1,000 for the Macular Society but wouldn’t £2020 been great!!
