Story
Colostomy UK is a national charity that offers support and advice to people with stomas and to their families, carers and friends. Colostomy UK also campaigns and acts as advocates for ostomates on the many issues they face going about their daily lives, to ensure that ostomates’ rights and needs are recognised by society. It funds vital support and projects to help people who are struggling pre or post surgery. We want hidden conditions to be understood and accepted by all. Our vision is of communities in which everyone is empowered to reach their potential.
The 50 K challenge is about getting active, in any way, spreading the word that people with stomas can do anything and raising funds to help make a difference for people with a stoma in the UK. Over a six-month period I will log the distance of my walks to help Colostomy UK reach their target of 50,000 kilometres.
Since my operation in January this year I have walked over 130 miles and don't intend to stop. Having a stoma has given me my freedom back and allows me to do the things I love.
Please support Colostomy UK by making a donation. Thank you.
