Story
In 2015 my brave and beautiful mum lost her battle with cancer. She spent her final days in the wonderful care of the Princess Alice Hospice.
During her final moments, the hospice nurses held my hand and comforted me as we said our final goodbyes. I will always be grateful for the compassion and support they showed and I want to make sure that this care can continue for other families.
Losing Mum has left a huge void in all our lives and I want to make her proud. I want her memory to live on in the wonderful work that PAH do.
I have done many crazy sporting challenges in my lifetime but this one is going to be the hardest by far! I am no runner and I have no doubt that in the coming months there will be lots of blood, sweat and tears. This however is nothing compared to what patients and staff at PAH endure on a daily basis...and I will carry this with me when my legs are screaming and I want to give up.
I know times are tough at the moment but charities have really suffered during the last few years and it is hard to describe quite how valuable their work is for families like mine. Support from the public is vital to ensure they can keep offering the specialist care they do.
Dig deep guys...your support is greatly appreciated...this rower is going to need buckets full of encouragement for this challenge!
