Jane Saunders Attempting 100k meters of swimming in August to raise funds for Claire House and Zoe’s Place through the Openwork Foundation

Hello, I’m Jane Saunders I’m 60 years old and a Nana to Iyla.  I’m also a Triathlete, but this year has been frustrating with niggly injuries that have stopped me from being able to run and bike and I’ve had to pull out of quite a few races. Because of this frustration I wanted to turn the situation into something positive…I can still swim (it’s my least favourite discipline!) but I can still swim … my normal race distance is 400m or 750m of swimming. So I’m going out on two limbs and challenging myself to swim 100,000 metres in August….or just over 62 miles! This equates to 3500m per day or 140 lengths of a standard 25m swimming pool every day until I’ve completed 100,000m

I am raising funds through The Openwork Foundation as they will increase funds raised and I will be nominating Claire House and Zoe’s place to receive a grant.
