Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in the Clipper Round the World Race, sailing from the storms of the Southern Ocean to the South China Sea. A test of sailing endurance that my Dad would be proud of and a chance for me to hopefully raise some money for Cornwall's hospices, close to my heart.
'The constantly changing conditions, from brutal to mild, mean that there is no relaxing, pushed mentally and physically and emotionally in one of the most inhospitable parts of the planet. Further south than on any other leg, the race takes me south out of the Indian Ocean into the Roaring Forties. Passing Cape Leeuwin, the south western tip of Australia, one of the three Great Capes that only a privileged few get to race past. This sleigh ride east will take me below the 40th Parallel towards the southern tip of Tasmania where the Tasman straits await. As the route turns North on the eastern Australian seabord, the huge ocean swells continue to challenge kit, sails and stamina.'
This experience has been likened to riding a bucking bronco in a washing machine at a 30 degree angle
Bring it on.......
