Story
19.09.10 OMG! Just added the amount we raised bag packing at Waitrose yesterday - have now reached 63% of my target! That is just fantastic - thank you thank you thank you everyone who has donated and supported us - you're amazing!!! ;)
As you've probably guessed bag packing went really well - £675.54 raised - fab fab fab - really didn't expect to raise that much - so so chuffed! My Mum, Mickey, Dan and Sam were there all day and Theresa, Jane and Sophie helped out for a few hours each. Thank you guys so so much! Dan and Sam were just wonderful - can't quite believe that they are my boys - they were so polite and helpful ;/ Don't quite know what happened there - all back to normal today ;)
Well that's us really - need to collect in all monies pledged and count everything up and then we're done. My Just Giving page stays open until mid November - so plenty of time for more donations if anyone would like to! ;) Please!!!
So far I think once we've totalled everything up we'll have raised about £3500! Just brilliant! Thank you so so much! xx
19.09.10 A huge thank you to Nicola Walker for donating! I'm afraid I don't have any contact details so cannot thank you personally. Hopefully you'll come back to my page and see this. ;) xx
12.09.10 Reached my 50% - always said I'd be happy with that so "Yay! Woop woop woo!!!!" ;) Raised £410.55 bag packing at Asda yesterday - just fab! Waitrose next weekend and then need to finish collecting all monies pledged! Huge thank yous to all who have supported us - truly appreciated!! ;)
Bag packing went well yesterday and Dan and Sam even admitted it didn't seem to take as long, nor was it as boring as they thought it was going to be - phew! In fact they did fab - polite and charming and have now earned themselves title of "family shoppper and bag packer" !!! ; ) Congrats boys! Mickey and Mum were there all day too and my friends Sarah and Katy helped out for an hour or so too - thanks guys!
07.09.10 How long this high is gonna last I don't know - but hey the clouds are a good place to be ;) Received some more donations yesterday and have had loads of really lovely messages - thank you everyone - your support is truly appreciated! As I've said before if you wish to keep in touch and find out more you could visit me on facebook, http://www.facebook.com/jane.pearce1 , or contact me on 07912092440. Thanks again. Janie xx
06.09.10 Although my feet are firmly planted on the ground my head is still floating around on fluffy clouds somewhere up there ;) The most amazing feeling and the most fantastic experience. I loved it! Fab fab fab :)
I still can't believe I did it - AFF Level 1 completed - how cool is that?! :)
I did my ground AFF training with Jay on the 14th August and on Saturday I did my refresher training with Stu. I was so so so nervous - not at all sure I had the courage to carry it through ;/ Stu was really nice and reassuring - and very patient ;/ Bless him! Went up with Stu and Andy and would've really been very grateful if someone had said "no, sorry, too much wind", "not enough space", "no more time" or just something that meant I couldn't actually do my jump but could still keep my pride intact ;)
Anyway, no-one did and I did it - yay! Stu and Andy were fab - and apparently I even passed my AFF Level 1 with flying colours - woop woop! ;) How clever am I ;)
Have told Mark and he said "well done you - just Becky and I to do ours now when I get back". Oh, yes they wont be getting out of it! ;)
Mark is in the States doing The Gumpathon, ( www.thegumpathon.com ), at the moment. Another charity fund-raiser he's involved with. Basically 6 guys running across America over the next two months, as Forest Gump did in the film by the same name. Mark will be running about a mile a day as well. They are aiming to raise £1 000 000 for H4H, RMA and Semper Fi Fund. Inspirational! xx
04.09.10 The eagle has landed ... intact - yay ;) Still up in fluffy clouds somewhere floating around - I really really did it and it was fab fab fab!!! ;) xx
04.09.10 Well looks like todays the day - sunnyshine here to stay so can't get out of it this time ;/ Mark has gone off to The States to do The Gumpathon, (www.thegumpathon.com ), so Becky and he will do theirs when he gets back somewhen after mid Nov. Wish me luck as I'm not so sure I want to do this now ;/

12.08.10 Two days - OMG - Mark O messaged me the other day and said "nothing to worry about ur only falling so theres no skill involved :-)" Yep - cheers for that Mark - really confidence building and nerve abating!! ; ) Much prefer Vickis message "go girl - enjoy your jump! Fall with style!" Sure they'll be no style involved but sounds good! ; ) Just hope I remember to flare this time : /
Please please keep showing your support everyone - these charities that help our guys and gals so so need our support. My Mum gave me £50 yesterday - thank you Mum! : )

Wish us luck please! xx
12.07.10 Just heard that the Charity Chest at HMS Nelson has given us £100 - woop woo!!! I think we must be around about the £2000.00 mark now if we include all the donations we've been pledged - month to go - please support us if you can in anyway you can - thank you ; ) xx
20.06.10. Thought it was about time we updated our page so -
We've just had a very productive weekend. It was the HMS Sultan summer show in Gosport and we were allowed to go along with our buckets, flyers and sponsor forms. Saturday we raised £355.28 and today we raised £506.27 - wow - so so pleased! People were so generous and kind. We gave out loads of flyers that people have said they'll put up in various places for us and some people even took sponsor forms to help raise some money for us. Fab! So thank you everyone for your support - especially the guys working at the entrance/exit to the Sultan show - you were great and helped us raise so much.
Cheers, Janie ; ) xx
Hi and thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
A chance message via Facebook and here we are. I sent Mark a message to say how much I'd enjoyed his book and mentioned that I'd like to do another skydive and this time for H4H and that he could join me if he liked. Opened my big mouth again! ; )
So here we are, Mark, his wife Becky and me. Doing something we all loved the first time round and hoping to raise as much as we can - £5000.00, at least, - so please dig deep and spread the word!
Mark is a Royal Marine and was seriously injured while on tour in Afghanistan on December 24th 2007. He lost both his legs and his right arm and began the greatest battle of his life on that day. Since then he has achieved so much. Part of his fight to get his life back has been for his daughter, Kezia, who is now 5 and for his girl-friend Becky, now his wife.
Marks battle began with learning to walk again with "bionic" legs. One of his initial aims was to be able to stand to receive his Operational Service Medal for Afghanistan - he achieved this less than 5 months after the blast.
Another goal of his was to walk Becky down the aisle on their wedding day. This he achieved on 2nd May 2009. They also danced the first dance to"Amazed" by Lone Star - apparently not a dry eye in the house. I had tears rolling when I read that in his book - and that wasn't the only part of his book I cried at, or laughed out loud at!
Marks book, "Man Down", was published last year and is a witty, sad and uplifting read - a real tribute to his absolute courage and determination.
Amongst Marks other achievements are his parachute jump 7 months after his accident and learning to water ski.
In the autumn of this year Mark will also be helping out The Gumpathon guys. This event is where 4 men will run across America from New York City to Los Angeles - a journey totalling some 3630 miles - to raise money for H4H and the American charity, Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, both of which help support our wounded soldiers and veterans. Go Forest! Go! ; )
Mark is currently in the process of leaving the Royal Marines and re-joining civilian life - a new challenge to tackle.
All of us have done a parachute jump before so we do know what we are letting ourselves in for. I loved my first, 3 years ago, and was on a high for weeks. However last time I did forget to flare - not good - hopefully this time I wont forget!
At the moment we wouild like to give half of what we raise to Help for Heroes, (H4H), and divide the rest between a few other smaller charities that Mark would like to support, including BLESMA and RBLI. We may change this plan though depending on how much we can raise.
So please help us to support our heroes - those injured both physically and mentally, the many men and women we hear so little about, some of whom have had their lives changed forever. Please let them know they will never be forgotten.
(Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.)
Thank you for your support - we all greatly appreciate it!
