Story

So the original plan had been to trek the Pyrenees in memory of Yvonne but covid put paid to that. Scafell Pike was conquered; the Yorkshire 3 Peaks was a git on a really hot day but they were done.

We can't let all the money that was raised go to waste and so on 5th June we embark on a 100km kayak adventure from Fort William to Inverness. It should take 5 days and hopefully the midges will be kind!

Yvonne will be chortling at this but in September I will be undertaking a five day trek across the Pyrennes, following the Chemin de la Liberte route - the escape route for Allied airmen during WWII, from occupied France to neutral Spain.

Yvonne was such a special person and did so much for everyone. She lit up a room whenever she walked into it. She was taken far too soon from us and so I am doing this in an attempt to recognise her bravery and raise some money for St Cuthbert's Hospice who took such good care of her.

Training is going well and over the next few weeks there will be a couple of dry runs - Scafell Pike and the Yorkshire Three Peaks. I'm training hard and building up my strength and hoping that the fact that I'm built like a Shetland Pony will stand me in good stead as we reach altitude of 2500m.

If you could spare a little money to honour Yvonne's memory I'd be really grateful. Thank you
