Story
I'm an artist working and living in Aberdeenshire and want to help fund-raise through my Art .
The Community of Mull and Iona are in danger of loosing their Ranger service due to a lack of funding. If they can raise £6000 themselves this will be matched by Nature Scot , they are nearly there , can we help them get over the line!
The Rangers hold a wealth of knowledge and one very important part of their job description is organising learning activities for schools. I believe it is so important we arm our youngsters with as much knowledge about the environment as possible and instil in them at a very early age a love of the countryside. I know that being out in nature is a free source of therapy for me. Nothing beats a day at the beach or a walk in the hills to clear my mind and put things in perspective. Let's inform and nurture our youngsters and introduce them to the wonders that are out there.
What else do the rangers do? They support landowners and farmers to manage access, and help resolve countryside conflicts and issues on behalf of our community and visitors, they protect and monitor wildlife, improve and manage footpaths and parking.
We need them !
