Story
I have been a part of the Nuevas Esperanzas family since it began, for fifteen of the seventeen years I have lived in Nicaragua. Life often does not turn out as we expect but this organisation and the wonderful work it does has been a constant inspiration. We are working in a small part of a small country a long way from my original home, but we are all doing our part to make a big difference to the lives of the families Nuevas Esperanzas works with.
I am not really much of a runner, especially not in Nicaragua where the heat and humidity mean it is already too late if you leave the house after 6am for your run! I am older, hopefully wiser but certainly not fitter than when we ran 10km for 10 years, but I am committed to running 15km with Leo, our Nuevas Esperanzas director so that one step, one km, one community at a time, we can continue to make a difference.
