For the last few years I have volunteered, raised money, and championed Ronald McDonald House Charities. This year, I decided to take the plunge and really challenge myself with the goal to run the London Marathon to raise money and awareness for the amazing and vital work that RMHC do. 

For those of you who don’t know, Ronald McDonald House Charities provide free 'home away from home' accommodation at specialist children's hospitals across the UK, enabling families to stay close to their child and maintain a degree of normal family life. 

I have personally volunteered in these houses, and I have seen first hand the critical service that they provide to families going through what no family should have to experience. The support these houses provide, not just in terms of a comfortable place to stay within minutes of their children, but in terms of emotional support through the work of their volunteers, is vital.
