Story
I took part in the Newcastle Culture Crawl in 2017 with a number of Parkdean colleagues in memory of our friend Michael Almond who sadly lost his life to a rare brain tumour earlier that year at just 27.
It seemed like more than a coincidence that an advert for the Coastal Crawl popped up on my phone whilst I was having a text chat with Michael’s mum, Mary. So I decided it was time to do some more fundraising for Maggie’s.
Jen and Danielle had also heard so much about the great work that Maggie’s Centre does in supporting both cancer patients and their whole families. So we have formed a fundraising team and we look forward to walking together on Friday 30th June.
It’s a truly great cause so all donations with be greatly appreciated!

Maggie’s is for anyone affected by cancer, including family and friends. You can pop in for a cup of tea, find a peaceful spot in the garden or speak with their team of experts. Their cancer support specialists offer a daily drop-in. You don't need an appointment or referral, you simply just come in. They offer practical and emotional support to people with any type of cancer, at any stage, free of charge. Maggie's relies on the generosity of their supporters in the local community. They focus on the things that really make a difference, such as financial worries, help with managing stress and anxiety as well as side effects of treatment.
