Our story is inspired by a very special young man Mat Davis. Mat was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the tender age of 20 and sadly lost his battle with this dreadful disease just 3 years later when he was 23. Mat was larger than life, he was funny, loving, caring and a real gentleman. He made a lasting impression on everyone who he met.

Whilst Mat was poorly he did lots of fundraising and It was Mat's wish that his legacy lived on and that we carried on this passion of his.

In 2012 the Mat Davis Foundation was founded. Over the past 5 years we have raised funds with the help of lots of local support of over £60k. We have helped the Teenage Cancer ward at Birmingham's QE hospital, we have supported a variety of local school and sports educational events and most recently had a house renovated to incorporate a wet room so that a young girl also with a brain tumour like Mat could come home. We wouldn't be able to do any of this without your support.....those of you that know me (Jane Hood) might know that I don't run!!! In fact it frightens me every time I go out training with Sonia, my Sis and training partner!

But I am going to run 10K on Sunday the 11th of June and it will be the hardest physical challenge I have endured yet....nothing in comparison to what others go through on a daily basis....we are doing this to support those less fortunate than us that we hear about every day.
