Story

I've done it!  I hope I have thanked almost everybody individually, but unfortunately, I do not have emails or addresses for some of you, so please excuse this rather public message of thanks.

To raise £10,000 is not that easy at the moment, but RDA is such a very special cause and I cannot tell you how grateful I am to you all for such generous donations.  I have, in fact, now raised over £10,000 and your help was the biggest boost to making me take that hairy plunge!

It was a bit scary I have to admit!  Hurtling out into a wet white cloud 2 and a half miles up was not the greatest feeling, although the going up was the worst bit looking out and wondering why on earth I had said I would do it anyway as the ground disappeared from view!  Being the first out I was looking at a very scared looking lot of fellow skydivers who were hoping I was going to show them what happened, as they had already decided that, as Chairman, I should jump first!  But before I knew much more, I was tapped on the shoulder by my instructor and the next moment we were out free-falling for around 8-9000ft as the cloud was pretty low. When the parachute opened it was an amazing feeling and the rest was pretty good.  I had a really excellent landing thanks to two practises as we came down so the real thing was very gentle!!

Thank you again - I cannot tell you how much such super support is appreciated by me and RDA.

If anyone would still like to donate, this page will remain active until the New Year - thanks a million.
