Dorothea was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and Alzheimers in October 2015, although she will still tell you how lucky she is, and that there is nothing wrong with her at all. Sadly on April 24th 2018 she passed away.

How wonderful it would be if there had been something that would cure her, or had slowed down the inevitable progress and more to support me in caring for her. That will only ever happen, if together we raise the awareness of the illness - too long thought of as 'just old age,' and if we raise the funds to enable the research that is needed to help find and produce a cure and better treatment. 

I've set up Rainbow Jane, a project based in my art shed, with crafting, coffee, cake and chat events. 

For the 2nd year now, I'm walking the Leeds Memory Walk on September 22nd 2018, with a Rainbow Jane team.
