At 10.00am on Sunday 21 April 2013, I will be stood alongside 40,000 people on the start line of the Virgin London Marathon!

 

You all may think I have gone mad, but last April in a moment of madness, I registered my interest in gaining a place to run the London Marathon.  It wasn’t until October 2012, when the all important envelope was delivered confirming I had been allocated a place out of a total of 150,000 people who applied. 

 

Since January, I have been training 3 to 4 times a week, building my fitness and mileage every week.  Every Sunday morning, I am up and out running at 8.00am, week on week.  Half way through my training schedule, disaster struck! A knee injury that stopped my training for 5 weeks.  I have fought so hard to catch up with my training plan and I intend to do everything I can to complete this event.

 

I have set up two just giving pages, one for our company nominated charity The Christie and the other for Manchester Children’s Hospital and would greatly appreciate any donations you could make to either organisation who do such brilliant work for the people of the North West of England
