SPF EVEREST BASE CAMP 2022 · 5 April 2022

We support 2 great causes to help injured RL players and beat cancer!

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am a mum aged 50 to Annie,18 and Joe,14.. We each have our own reasons for taking part in this challenge at this particular time in our lives. The common reason between us is to strengthen our mental health by doing something so far from our comfort zone that it’s scary.!! I have wanted to do something as I approached 50 but nothing stood out until Everest was mentioned to me. My initial thought was “absolutely not”! But then Annie said she felt she was interested in setting a huge challenge for herself and to do it in her 18th year as she leaves school life behind, Joe, is autistic and when we told him what we where thinking of doing he immediately said he wanted to take part. Joe has had a turbulent time this past 18 months, he has had to move schools at age 13, and struggled with accepting his autism. He really wants to achieve something that will show he can do anything if he sets his mind to it. We are a typical snapshot of a typical family who just want to do something not so typical, and to do it for a charity that is touching so many lives just makes it sweeter. We know we need to raise an enormous amount, but it’s an enormous ask. One mum, 2 kids on the worlds biggest mountain for 9 days!! What could possibly go wrong! Anything you can give is GENUINELY APPRECIATED.
