Our team from Birkenhead Sixth form College are going to climb the three highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) over a period of 24 hours! We chose to do it for a number of cancer charites as everyone knows someone who has suffered from this terrible disease. Personally, I have known many people close to me battle with cancer. There are too many to name but they include my dad, who was treated successfully for bowel cancer, my uncle Harry who unfortunately lost his battle with lung cancer, my cousin Sharon Kopeck who lost her life through cancer, my cousin Sonya who survived breast cancer and more recently my friend Matt Maher who has just undergone horrific treatment for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. I am sure you can all tell similar stories of people who know and love.
