Story
A bit of an update on our walk. We are really pleased that we have hit 67% of our target and would like to say thank you to everyone who has donated. Its Saturday 7th November and we would be getting ready for the walk tomorrow. However, Clare is having to self isolate as one of the students she supports has tested positive for Covid-19. So, with heavy hearts we have had to postpone our walk from Remembrance Sunday to Saturday 21st November. We know that for us, personally, it wont be as impactful but Remembrance is not confined to one day alone and we will remember when we walk in two weeks. It also gives us more time to hit our target!
I work, and Clare volunteers, for the Legion so we know how vital their work is and how it changes lives on a daily basis. We also know that with the Pandemic the Legion will not be able to run Poppy Appeal as usual. Therefore individual challenges, like ours, are going to be vital in raising funds so that more lives can be changed.
We have both been walking a lot during the year so wanted to stretch ourselves and walk 11 miles between six sites that hold Commonwealth War Graves from both World War. That way we are challenging ourselves, raising money and remembering those that gave their lives in both conflicts. So please sponsor us and think of us as we walk 11 miles on Saturday 21st November.
