Story
On 4th September, along with 6 colleagues, I will be attempting the 3rd Tearfund Thames Triathlon - 52 miles of running (10 miles), kayaking/rowing (10 miles) and cycling (32 miles), along and around the river Thames, from near the Tearfund office in Teddington. That's a mile for each of Tearfund's 52 years!
We're following Jesus where the need is greatest, working through local churches to unlock people's potential. When disasters strike, we respond quickly. Since the coronavirus outbreak, Tearfund has been working to help prevent the spread of the disease in the most vulnerable communities - providing life-saving assistance such as hygiene education, hand washing facilities and food parcels across more than 30 countries. Millions of lives are still at stake, and the needs are still growing in countries that simply do not have the infrastructure to cope with pandemic on top of so many other challenges.
We'll be attempting this huge 52-mile challenge to help provide life-saving support where it's needed most. Your support will inspire us to another step, stroke (my biggest challenge!) and pedal!
