Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Jane Bestwick and in January 2019 my husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer. For those of you have had the devastating experience of cancer coming into your life, you will truly understand how this horrendous disease rips your life apart and leaves devastation in its path.
Tragically my husband Eric passed away in September of last year leaving us as a family broken. There is not a day that goes by that I don't miss him and mourn for the life we should have had and the years we have been cheated of.
The story does not end there, Andrew and his wife Kim were in the same bay as us and together we chatted and shared our journey. Tragically Andrew lost his battle on 26th March this year leaving a wife and 2 children.
Last year a beautiful fun loving lady called Bev Blagg was diagnosed with cancer, she received her diagnosis in October last year and devastatingly she lost her battle on the morning of New Year's Eve, again Bevs passing left her parents without their daughter, a brother without his sister and a partner without his sole mate, again 2 children were the collateral damage to this dreadful disease.
Finally there is Carol, she too was diagnosed with cancer and she lost her brave courageous battle against cancer a couple of weeks ago, she was a wife, mum sister and friend.
Can you see a common theme here, these are all people I know, people who fought with every ounce of their being. People whose families will never get over the pain and devastation their passing has left.
Cancer effects 1 in 2 and in view of the pandemic, it is essential that together we strive to enable the professional to find a cure so you do not have to experience the loss we have faced.
So on that note, a group of us are doing the Race for Home. Please donate or sponsor us, every penny counts!
The event will commence at 10AM on Saturday 24th April from the Clumber Inn Ordsall and following a 5k walk we will finish at The Gate in Ordsall.
Sending love and best wishes to you all
Kindest regards
Jane Bestwick ❤
