Story
Jane was diagnosed with breast cancer during the 2012 Olympics, the day after Bradley Wiggins won the Time Trial. So we thought it quite fitting that we use our bikes to raise money for charity. We have both entered a 100 mile bike ride, the 2014 Prudential RideLondon Surrey 100, exactly 2 years after Jane was diagnosed. Our goal is to raise £5,000 for Breast Cancer Care by the time we cross the start line next year.
Will is a regular cyclist but for Jane this is a significant challenge! Having undergone chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy earlier this year, she has recently returned to the gym to try and regain her fitness, whilst still undergoing the final phase of her treatment (Herceptin) which continues until December 2013. She will then start her training on the bike in earnest in the spring.
We are undertaking various fundraising events between now and August 2014, eg in September Will completed the 'Raid Pyrénéen' challenge, a 720km coast-to-coast bike ride against the clock through the Pyrenees. Jane is hosting coffee mornings / cake sales and is toying with idea of cookery demonstrations...
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any donations, however small, will make a difference. We both truly appreciate it!
