Please donate to our fundraiser for The Humane League UK. We'll be cleaning three beaches on the coast of Sussex on 23rd Nov, 14th Dec and 21st Dec (feel free to come and join us!). And we'll be recording it for the Marine Conservation Society to enter it into their official monitoring. No doubt we'll be counting a lot of cigarette butts :( This fundraiser will help two-fold! The beach cleans will help with the ever-increasing issue of plastic affecting our seas and the wildlife within them but also the farmed animals that also suffer horrendous lives day in day out in dirty, cramped and unbearable conditions. The Humane League works to end the abuse of animals raised for food and have successfully persuaded companies to end the use of cages for hens. Their focus is now on the billions of chickens reared for meat every year to improve the condition they endure throughout their lives. So really you donating helps twice over! The Marine Conservation Society records a 10% rise in litter on beaches with much of it plastic. The beaches in winter suffer just as much from litter as in the summer as it comes from the wash-up from stormy weather. Plus beach cleaning in winter is cold stuff so it doesn't happen so much. THL is rated as a top charity by Animal Charity Evaluators so know that your money will be put to very good use!
