I was delighted to be awarded a charity place for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in the Royal Parks Foundation half marathon 2015 and equally delighted to complete the course with a personal best time of 2:11:56! 

It was a fabulous day, a great event and the support from the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home cheering crowd, and indeed all the crowds, was amazing. The cuddle from Bernard, the Battersea dog afterwards was the icing on the cake.

Our family shares our home with our Staffie, Buddy, who is our third rescue dog and in our house we believe that all dogs and cats deserve a loving home. I know the charity sector well because of my day job as CEO of Roots HR CIC, the UK's leading HR and H&S consultancy for social sector employers. I visited Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in 2006 and admire their employee and stakeholder engagement, their marketing, their sound governance and of course their rescue work.
