Story
The ocean is very much at the heart of what we do at JAM and has been since the beginning. Not only has the ocean inspired us creatively, but for us, it has always been an amazing way to connect with ourselves and one another as we take a moment to escape from the bustle of everyday life. And, this is exactly what The Wave Project stands for.
Founded in 2010, The Wave Project recognised the undeniable powers that surfing has on those struggling with their mental health as it truly allows a sense of calm and connection to one another. With a significant rise in young people experiencing mental health issues, The Wave Project's sole aim is to enable young people who are struggling to prove to themselves that "I can do it!" and has been named the world’s first ‘surf therapy’ course funded by a government health service.
The Wave Project model has expanded from Cornwall across the South West of England to North Yorkshire, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and London, where they continue to use surf therapy in supporting children and their mental health.
As a community project, The Wave Project needs our help - from supporting the volunteers, surfers, ambassadors, members, and donors to local events and the brand itself. So, over the next year; we are going to be taking part in hosting a variety of fundraising activities to help raise a target of £10,000 to support such a wonderful project.
You can help us achieve this target by donating through the checkout on our website or directly to this page. We are grateful for every single penny.
Thank you!
