Access Sport is a registered charity. We make inclusion the norm by tackling the access barriers faced by disadvantaged and disabled young people, focussing on the causes of exclusion—not just the symptoms.

Story

Well ladies and gents, I did it. I finished in 17,537th position in a leisurely time of 2hrs. The day was fantastic. Beautiful weather, lovely people and an awesome atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks to all of you who have sponsored me, both online and offline, I am extremely grateful for your support. Big love Jamie

So, if you're reading this let me first thank you for not deleting my email outright. I know how many of these requests are bouncing around from other "goodie-two-shoes" at the moment, all demanding your hard earned cash.

Well, in that respect I'm afraid I'm no different.

However, unlike all of those other requests from super-fit, fundraising fiends; people who actually ENJOY the running, swimming, climbing etc etc. This request comes from someone who will HATE every minute of this half marathon and for this reason I ask you to give your pennies (and pounds) to this charity.

Not only will I be running a distance that should be considered cruel and unusual punishment, but I understand that the majority of this distance will be UPHILL!!! (Cue sympathy).

The one redeeming feature of this Great North Run debacle is that I shall be running alongside (ok, mostly behind) my younger brother Robbie, for his charity Access Sport.

These guys do amazing work in getting kids off the streets and into sport around the country, so please give generously. If not for me, then for the chance to give the Aussies another beating in the medal tables at London 2012.

Thanks in advance.

Jamie
