Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Have you ever met someone, been somewhere, been part of a group or organisation that has made you smile, that helped in that instant or has been something stable in an unstable time?
Charnwood is that for us. It is an inclusive Nursery and Family Centre that has a commitment to families and children which is based on the Christian belief in the value of every individual. It is a place that welcomed us and supported us. It is an amazing place!
Emily and Joel have benefitted from Oppportunity Group and now Emily learns there 3 days a week. It was and still is a 'haven' for JA when Joel was poorly and needy whilst Emily just needed some attention from another kind adult (who wasn't a medic!) Now that Joel is improving it continues to be a place where everyone fits in, everyone has something to be celebrated and everyone makes a difference.
As Charnwood is a Christian Charitable Trust it can always benefit from extra funds. It is now my chance to help. Pounding the streets of my favourite city. Running down Deansgate past John Rylands, down Sir Matt Busby Way in the shadow of Old Trafford, (sadly not inside it!). 10km of pavement in Manchester. Sunday 16th May. ( I have stopped eating icecream from today 7.4.10, so will make the full 10k without being ill near the Imperial War musuem!)
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I just want to help. To put back. To pay it forward. Emily believes that brown coins are the highest value because the dolphins at the Trafford Centre, (the fountain) like them the best. Every little helps!
Check out Charnwood's website. http://charnwoodnursery.org.uk. It is an great place.
I have completed the run today... and I wasn't sick, although the jelly baby at 8.5km was not a good idea! It took me 57.15 mins. This was over 2 and a half minutes quicker than last year. Thank you for all your donations; Charnwood will use them wisely. Pics are on our blog site if you want to catch up with them there. Thanks again.
