Great Bristol 10k 2016 · 15 May 2016 ·

Diabetes UK is the charity leading the fight against the UK's devastating and fastest growing health crisis, working to create a world where diabetes can do no harm. It’s a fight that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together. Join us.

Story

On the 15th of May i'll be attempting to run 10 Kilometres around Bristol. I say attempting because it's my first sporting event since my life changed forever. Back in October of 2015 people began to tell me that I was thin, I looked pale and I sounded breathless. It was only after I fell asleep at my desk at work for no apparent reason that I was rushed to hospital and told I was Type 1 Diabetic.

Being Diabetic sucks but I want to prove that it won't stop me from living life to the full so i'm using the 10K to push myself and get back to the level of fitness I was before becoming ill.

I'll be raising money for Diabetes UK because I believe that if there was more awareness about the different types of Diabetes I would have spotted the symptoms earlier. Diabetes UK raises awareness and funds research. Diabetes could affect any of your loved ones so please give all you can.
