Story
I am climbing Kilimanjaro for the Brain Tumour Research charity.I will be climbing Kili sometime in June, It will be upto a 7 day trek in all hazardous conditions including weather and altitude.
Due to all my recent charity work & social events i have not done any training at all, which i am happy about as it adds to the challenge.
The reason i have chosen this as my charity is my friend El Twigg has a Brain Tumour and is currently undergoing treatment. She has had two major operations and has had radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Elaine is 37 years old and is a mother of Callum who is 17 & has the most loving relationship with her partner Kieron. Before she was diagnosed with the tumour she was a healthy, bubbly and an outgoing woman, with her whole life ahead of her.
Elaine was suffering symptoms for several months and due to lack of research the health professionals did not connect her symptoms with a Brain Tumour. Brain Tumours need to be treated straight away as survival rates are shockingly low in comparison with other cancers.
Brain Tumours cut short the lives of more children, teenagers and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer.
There are 16 000 people in the uk diagnosed with Brain Tumours and yet brain tumour research only receives 1% of funding.
So help me, El and her family raise money to assist this charity in funding the fight.
Your donation, no matter how small really will make a difference every penny helps! DIG DEEP
