Story
Thank you for visiting my page!
It's that time of year where I wear my PSP top and run the Great North Run on behalf of the PSP Association, as my Mother had Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) for several years. She thought until her last breath and was taken away from me on the 18th February 2014 as a result of this horrible disease.
PSP is a fatal brain condition and when my Mother was diagnosed with PSP I had to watch over the years my mother losing the ability to eat, walk and more importantly the Independence of looking after herself.
There is no treatment and no cure for PSP and that is why every year I try and raise funds for the PSP Association, who fund research into the causes, treatments and an eventual cure for PSP.
I started running so my Mother could see me run the Great North Run for the first time. This is the 4th time I'm running the Great North Run and it means a lot to me running in My mother's Memory.
This year is going to be extra hard for me. I've only started to put in the required training with 5 weeks left leading up to the Great North Run. Considering I ran 1:33 last year at the Great North Run, I struggled to run the South Shields 10 miler on 14/08/2016 at a time of 1:32. This shows my fitness at the moment. However because its for my Mother I promise that I will put 100% effort in and I want at least a sub 1:40. However People that know me will know I will be pushing for a faster time. Time is not on my side so it's a Massive challenge.
Any funds you can spare to support my challenge would be greatly appreciated by me and I will keep you posted on my challenge updates!
Thank you so much, Jamie
