Jamie's Shave for St John - bin the beard

Shave for St John - bin the beard · 19 April 2020
Many of my colleagues, friends and fellow volunteers are having to shave off their beards to ensure their masks fit. I’m going to shave mine too and hopefully raise some money to support our efforts in fighting Covid-19. I’ve been growing the beard for 6 months and I’ve grown quite fond of it! I don’t really want to see it go, not least as the tan line across my face will be fairly awful once it’s gone!
St John Ambulance usually earns money to fund the charitable output by training first aid to thousands of people every year and providing first aid at events across the country. Due to the coronavirus, our funding is reducing, but our efforts to fight this and support the NHS are huge.
Our volunteers are currently on the front line on ambulances and in hospitals across the country and supporting care at the nightingale hospital in East London. We’ve also got hundreds of volunteers helping in the background so support these efforts and keeping vital supply chains moving.
Your donations are greatly received.
Thanks so much!
Jamie
