In January I will volunteer for 6 months as a Team Leader on a development programme in India. This is part of International Citizen Service (ICS), which brings young people together to fight poverty and make a difference where it is needed most. I’ll be over-seeing volunteers from both India and the UK, on a project that brings local cultures and working practices together while building a more efficient and safe environment for local communities. ICS works alongside communities that have specifically requested their help and also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development in areas that need it the most.

I need to raise £800 for Raleigh International who are one of the respected development charities that deliver ICS. This will show my commitment to the organisation, as well as allowing them to see my skills of growing sponsorship. More importantly however, it will allow them to continue to bring about positive change in the developing communities where they work by allowing to send over more volunteers to offer helping hands where they are much-needed.
