Fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK
In 2011 I was diagnosed with bowel cancer at the age of 31 and I was in the lucky position that it was operable and the brilliant staff at Whips Cross hospital operated and removed half of my bowel . After the operation I was tested by Bart's hospital genetics department and diagnosed with Lynch Syndrome which means I am prone to certain cancers . Once the cancer was removed I started to suffer with my mental health and diagnosed with a mild form of PTSD . The only reason I am still here is down to the hard work of all the staff in the NHS and research centres across the country . So me and my partner want to give back. Even if it is a little "every penny counts" . So we are doing this trek for Bowel Cancer UK , .so please dig deep and donate .
We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity . We fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care . Were here to stop people dying of bowel cancer.
