Story
In April 2024 I’m running the London Landmarks half marathon for Grief Encounter. Since my lovely Dad Terry Rattee died on January 22nd 2021 I feel a deep affinity for the work of the charity and am acutely aware of how difficult the ‘process’ of grief can be. At 24 I was fortunate enough to have family and friends around me who were able to support me throughout, but many young people do not have that luxury. The charity’s provision of therapy services, efforts to normalise conversations around grief, and activity days with bereaved children are all inspiring actions and I cant wait to support their efforts. I’d be so grateful for any donations to support this cause that is close to my heart.
“One child in every classroom will be bereaved of a parent. We believe no child should face grief alone. At grief encounter we provide a range of support to help children and young people find ways to express their grief in a safe and supportive environment.”
