Story
Barry Cracknell (Baz) worked at Central College Nottingham for 7 years and was instrumental in building the higher level curriculum at London road campus. Specifically level 3 and 4 motor vehicle maintenance. Every student focused and he always went the extra mile to support students in achieving their goal. Driven by passion and the love for the motor trade Baz inspired all who came into contact with him.
Baz passed away 27th March 2014 from cancer in Hayward House and since then the college had opened up a commercial garage and added motorcycles to the curriculum. Central college now employ two of his previous students as lecturers students as lecturers - a fitting memory to Baz.
Hayward House is a specialist palliative care cancer unit in the grounds of the city hospital. It provides high quality care centered on the needs of patients and their families. Its aim is to enrich the quality of life through the skills of an experienced and caring team. Hayward House offers palliative care from diagnosis, through the interim periods of advancing disease, up to and including end of life care. Patients pain and other symptons are addressed; so too are emotional, spiritual and social problems of both patients and their families. A bereavement/counselling service is also provided.
