Story

Motor neurone disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting. MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. However, not all symptoms necessarily happen to everyone and it is unlikely they will all develop at the same time, or in any specific order. Although there is currently no cure for MND, symptoms can be managed to help you achieve the best possible quality of life.

Motor Neurone Disease is an illness very close to my step-family, and by extension to me, and the work of the MND Association means that in the not-so-distant future we can hopefully have a world where no-one needs to suffer from the disease, so I hugely encourage you to help the association towards this goal.

I'm massively grateful to have the opportunity to contribute to the work of this charity - I'll be running for everyone affected by MND, or anyone who has or has had a family member affected by MND, and any donations would be incredible.

Cheers,

Jamie
