Story

On 23 May 2020, seven friends - all very much amateur runners - will be covering 100 miles in a day in an effort to raise as much money as we can for the Trussell Trust, who support food banks nationwide. That’s a little over a half marathon each (which will be a first for at least some of us!).

A disgrace that we have food banks at all in the UK, coronavirus has placed additional pressure on the 14.5 million families (4.5 million children) who already rely on them. Last year, food banks in the Trussell Trust's network provided more than 1.6 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis. More than half a million of these went to children. It’s not right that people can’t afford the basics.

Please donate whatever you can afford. Even the cost of the coffee you’d usually have bought on your morning commute could help feed a family in this difficult time. #ThisCanChange
