Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
If we've met in this decade, I wouldn't blame you to think "he's not much of a runner".
However, a great man told me this summer that exercise and looking after your body are paramount to a happy and successful lifestyle. These words from an inspiring and committed fellow teacher really stuck with me. They would also be some of his last words to me.
In months following this, I have been physically pushing myself harder than I ever have. The constraints of a demanding job have limited my training more than I would have wanted. However, when I saw on Facebook that my mate Daniel was interested in running the Sheffield Half-Marathon in March 2020, I saw it as a perfect goal to work towards and have taken the plunge.
Having a look around at the associated charities, the Sheffield Hosptials Charity caught my eye. The work that doctors, nurses and other staff puts in for the NHS is astounding. If you have ever had to use any hospital services, you know how committed these people are to the health and wellbeings of others. I want to raise money so that they are in the position to give the best possible care to the people of Sheffield and the surrounding areas.
I'm running this in memory of Jamie Frost, the aforementioned great man. He lost his life to cancer this year, taken far too young. He has inspired me to better myself and I would never think of doing anything like this without those words.
He was very passionate about the work of the St. Columba's Hospice in Edinburgh. Any donations towards the outstanding work they do would also be appreciated:

This is the first time I have ever fund-raised for anything and it is certainly the first organised run I will ever complete. I really do appreciate any support (or advice) you are willing to offer, however big or small.
