Story

Thanks first and foremost for visiting my JustGiving page.

I'm sure if you're here you know me one way or another. Raising money and doing something as big as the Dublin Marathon for the Irish Cancer Society is pretty new to me. I know right now with Covid it can be a little bit more difficult to donate, so if you are able to give anything at all, that's phenomenal and I'll be eternally grateful <3.

For anyone asking "Why did Jamie decide to do this lol?" In February of last year I had to have surgery for Testicular Cancer (RIP leftie). Overall, the experience sucked but I currently don't need any further treatment apart from a biannual check-up. While I know that that experience was incredibly difficult for me I also know that other people have had much worse scenarios with Cancer. The Irish Cancer Society does incredible work for people effected by Cancer and it gives me so much joy to think about the people the money raised will help.

I've also so far been a pretty casual runner, 5-10km runs a couple times a week, so training up to 40k will be a challenge I hope you'll cheer me on in. Being in the best shape of my life post cancer is a little selfish cherry on top of this for me.

So, please donate if you feel you can, I think it's such an incredibly important cause you'll be helping and i'll be updating this with some added fun (for you not me) milestones for when we raise certain amounts.

ILY for reading all of that,

Jamie :)
