Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Hello!

I have set myself the challenge of running 2014 kilometres in 2014 for Parkinson's UK. That's 5.5km every day for a year - almost a marathon per week!

Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurological condition that affects 125,000 people in the UK, some as young as 21. It severely affects movement and sufferers become increasingly reliant on those around them for simple everyday tasks. 10,000 people every year are diagnosed with Parkinson's, for which there is no cure. Parkinson’s UK offer expert information, groundbreaking research and caring support for those with the disease.

I will be tracking every run using Garmin Connect and will post photos on here of my monthly mileage so you know I'm not cheating! In 2013 I ran under 1000km so this will be a big challenge (I’m busy enough as it is) but I’m looking forward to it. Please give generously and spread the word for a great cause.
