Story
As a huge fan of the outdoors & also a keen off-road trail runner, I have set myself a personal challenge this year to complete an off-road ultra marathon. The ultra that I have entered is the Brecon Beacons 32 mile (51.87km) on the 5th May.
The Brecon Beacons are located in South Wales, offering some of the most stunning scenery in the country. I will be starting at the village hall of Talybot-on-Usk and this strenuous course will take me to elevations of 3538 metres/ 11608 feet. So I thought while I was training for this, it would be a great opportunity to try and raise some more money for the mental health charity MIND.
This time around, I plan to raise money a little differently and I am going down the corporate route. I am the MD of a company called MyWorkwear. MyWorkwear are also Patrons of the networking group Made In The Midlands. MIM are a networking organisation that does an amazing job of bringing local manufacturers & engineers together to do business in the Midlands. So between MYW & MIM, our aim is to cover my training (& hardships no doubt!) through our various social media channels and in return hopefully raise some money. I have also pledged on behalf of MYW to donate £25 for every new MIM customer we get on board this year!
So a huge thank you to MYW & MIM for their support on this challenge and for more details on these two organisations, please see these links:
