About me and why I am doing this:
My name is James Shannon. I am 13 years old and lost my sister to leukaemia six and a half years ago. My family and I benefitted from the services of the bereavement unit at the hospital where she died, and feel other children would gain from a similar support. The Woking Hospice YoYo Club was launched to give support to bereaved children, a chance to meet up and talk to other people in similar circumstances and take part in activities remembering the lost loved one.
What I am doing:
I am taking part in a 3 week expedition to the Sinai desert in Egypt to raise money for the Chldren's Bereavement Services and Woking Hospice YoYo Club. We will be undertaking a 100km hike in temperatures of around 45'C through the desert and also a week-long environmental project in Dahab. We are raising funds to make this expedition possible, and to support a cause that we all feel is very important.
How much money do I need to raise:
I need to raise £1,800 to be able to take part in the expedition, and we are also aiming to raise £100,000 as a group to help the Hospice services. The more money we can raise, the more help we can give to children who really need it, so please would you dig deep and sponsor me online to help me achieve my target of £2,500 or more.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Woking Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
