SWV Ski Week 2023 · 6 March 2023 to 12 March 2023 ·

SWV helps wounded veterans regain their independence through skiing. In March, 25 veterans will take to the slopes to build confidence & restore self-belief. With challenge & camaraderie they are empowered to successfully transition to civilian life.

Story

On 2 June Col. James Royds (Retd late QOY) and former High Sheriff Northumberland 2022/23 and I threw ourselves out of an aeroplane strapped to one of the famous Red Devils to raise money for Supporting Wounded Veterans.

Supporting Wounded Veterans helps wounded veterans regain their independence through skiing. Since 2012, SWV has helped hundreds of veterans back into meaningful employment or occupation. In March 2023, 25 veterans will take to the slopes to build their confidence and restore their self-belief. With challenge and camaraderie they are empowered to successfully transition to civilian life.I will be joining the SWV team as Ski Buddy, supporting the veterans throughout the week.On their return home, veterans are supported by a mentor and the SWV employment, training and occupation team to consider and plan their professional and personal goals outside of military life.
