Story

Hi,

Thanks for clicking on the link. As most of you will know, I’ve made the truly dreadful decision to try and complete the London Marathon.....one I am definitely regretting.

You will probably also know that I am no runner, the most exercise I did before the beginning of this year was to the nearest pub!

The reason I’ve decided to do this is, and one of the only reasons to keep going, is that I am running for an absolutely fantastic charity called MACS.

MACS (Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia & Coloboma Support) is a relatively small charity that helps children who are born without eyes or with under developed eyes. A condition that I’m sure you will agree as you read this, dramatically changes the lives of those affected and their families. (www.macs.org.uk)

I appreciate that you may know a number of people running the London Marathon this year for fantastic charities and may have donated already, but anything you are able to donate to this great cause will go such a long way for the people affected. As a smaller charity, every penny you are able to donate really does make a difference to someone’s life.

Even if you’re not in a charitable mood, surely paying for the pleasure of seeing me struggle round 26.2 miles is worth a few quid!

For those of you free on 28th April 2019, please do come into town to support the 40-odd thousand runners, it really is appreciated - and assuming I complete it, no doubt we’ll be celebrating in a local venue, so would be great to see you!

On behalf of MACS and from me, thank you for your donations.

James
