Story
Hi, my name is James, and my Mum (Lucinda) and I are aiming to cycle from Barns Green to Shoreham and back (about 40 miles) to raise money for WaterAid.
I have chosen to raise money for WaterAid as covid has made me think about the essential things in life. I was shocked to find out that 800 children die per day due to contaminated water. 785 million people don’t have access to clean water and climate change is making it worse with drought and flooding.
Please help me to raise money to pay for clean water provision e.g. boreholes, decent toilets and hygiene information.
I have been in training since February (when we decided we needed to get fitter in lockdown), and since organised sports have started again I have been doing hockey, football, touch rugby and cricket to get fit! My longest cycle so far has been 17.8 miles so 40 miles will be a big challenge.
We are hoping to do the cycle on Monday 31st May (weather and injury dependent) with support from Dad and friends along the route to keep us going.
This cycle will also help us to create some good memories after a very challenging year.
Please help me raise money for this worthwhile cause. Thank you!
