This is a memorial page for James O'Connell set up by his family. James died on Sunday 8 September 2013 at the age of 87 after a short period of illness. 

We have set up a memorial fund to remember him - and to receive donations in lieu of funeral flowers.

We would like the donations to be split between WaterAid and St Joseph's Hospice. The only way to do this on JustGiving is to set up two separate donation pages.

Wateraid was one of James' favourite charities. Having lived and worked for 18 years in Africa, James had seen first-hand the hardship and illness caused by a lack of access to safe water. Clean water is essential for life, but one in ten of the world's population does not have access to it. Just £15 can enable one person to access a lasting supply of safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation.
