Our vision is a future where no one in the UK loses their life to meningitis and everyone affected gets the support they need to rebuild their lives.

Story

Following James's sudden death, we have been touched by the outpouring of love by everyone who knew him.  It was his wish not to have a funeral but it seemed that so many people wanted to pay their respects that setting up a fundraising page for a worthy charity would be a good way to remember him.

In 2013 James contracted bacterial meningitis and was lucky to survive. Three short years later he died suddenly from a massive aneurysm in his brain. There is no way of knowing whether the two were in any way connected but we were told it was a possibility.

Either way, meningitis is devastating and Meningitis Now aims at eradicating the disease by providing money for extensive research, as well as providing support for all those affected by the disease.

We feel that because he himself suffered from the disease, raising money for this charity in his name would be a fitting legacy.
