Story
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to visit my fundraising page for the 2014 London Marathon.
Having hit 40 this year (years, not trouser size) and with three half marathons in the bag, I could not resist the mid-life call to run the London Marathon in 2014. Even Mo Farrah thinks this is his year so will be on the starting line!
After advice from previous runners, I am well into a four month training plan. I had no idea what the schedule was like, but it's brutal. The months of training that remain will quite simply be less painful with your support.
Since moving to Jersey in 2013, I have seen at first hand the quite uniquely wonderful place that is Jersey Hospice - perhaps take a look at their video, the last image below. Currently enmeshed in scaffolding, it is entirely dependent on charitable donations. Eight inpatient beds are now open and it is a triumph. I feel very proud to work with them and to have secured one of their two marathon places.
So please, if you only sponsor ONE lolloping marathon amateur this year, would you make it me? With a good wind, I'm determined to do it in under 4 hours 30 minutes - maybe faster if I hit my target!
Thank you in advance and see you in the pub afterwards!
James
