Story
In July 2012 my then 6 month old son Jacob was dignosed with Hirschprung's disease, a rare condition that required the removal of a section of his large intestine.
On 4th October 2012 the paediatric surgeons at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital successfully performed the operation by keyhole surgery and Jacob is well on his way to making a full recovery. I am, and will always be wonderfully grateful to the surgeons, doctors, and nurses at Chelsea & Westminster for treating Jacob, and now I am proud to be able to give something back through raising money for the Pluto Appeal.
The goal of this appeal is to raise the £1.5 million needed to purchase a robot named Pluto for the hospital that will enable the surgeons to perform intricate surgery on babies and children with more precision, better recovery times, shorter hospital stays and smaller scars.
By taking on the huge challenge of running the London Marathon (and hopefully achieving a very ambitious finishing time!) I aim to contribute very generously to this fantastic cause, and I can only do that with your support. Please dig deep and sponsor me!
